Read Along - The Homing Pigeons by Sid Bahri

A very warm welcome to all the readers as we commence the beginning of The Homing Pigeons. This is the very first read along for me and I am happy it has begun with this book which is a good read by an author who is one an Indian and two so passionate about writing, that he chose to be a writer in times where most writers agree that "writing is not a profession." Working closely with the author has taught me many things and his passion is contagious.

I thank Sid Bahri, The Readaddicts (Sarika &Janhvi) and Ankita Singhal to include me in this read along. I have read this book before (my review here - but it will be more enjoyable in the company of these three avid readers and best reviewers whose blogs I follow closely.

The Homing Pigeons (SUMMARY):

In the middle of the catastrophic 2008 recession, Aditya, a jobless, penniless man meets an attractive stranger in a bar, little does he know that his life will change forever…..
When Radhika, a young, rich widow, marries off her stepdaughter, little does she know that the freedom that she has yearned for is not exactly how she had envisioned it…..
They say Homing Pigeons always come back to their mate, no matter where you leave them on the face of this earth. Homing Pigeons is the story of love between these two unsuspecting characters as it is of lust, greed, separations, prejudices and crumbling spines.

About The Author Sid Bahri :

A hotelier by education, an ex-banker and a senior executive in the outsourcing industry, Sid gave up a plush career in the outsourcing industry to follow his passions. Based out of Ranikhet, he is now a struggling entrepreneur and a happy writer. A self- proclaimed eccentric, he is an avid blogger who loves to read and cook. Cooking stories, however, is his passion. The Homing Pigeons is his debut novel. He can be reached at

For Interested Readers:

The Homing Pigeons is not a light read, nor is it a romantic love story. It is not for the tabooed minds but for people willing to accept the truth that lies at the centre of human nature beneath the layers of pretence. The truth that comes out not in comfort but its realization strikes one in adversity. While most critics and readers even Dr. Shashi Tharoor has loved the book, there are a few who could relate to some parts of it, some characters. As I said earlier its cold truth - we may not love to accept. However we love to hear each and every viewpoint and I would love that as many people as possible to participate in this read along, express their views and discuss with us. An author always learns from interactions with his readers, keeping that in mind I inaugurate this read along hoping for a fun read and discussion session with all of you. If you are reading this post please do comment, your presence on this page is highly valued, and your participation all the more.

Sid Bahri shall personally be answering all the questions. You can post your questions to him right here below the post or at any of the above provided contact ids.

Waiting for your participation now! Cheers!!!
